Canadian Railroads > Ontario Northland 'Northlander'

In Oct 1977 I caught the Northlander arriving at Toronto Union Station with the very unique 'TEE Train trainset. I guess this comes under the 'What were they thinking' description. If I remember correctly (and that's not a certainty) the long wheelbase trucks were an issue. The locomotives were out of service soon after, but the passenger cars went on for another decade behind modified FP7's. 

I wish I had ridden this train back in the day. Can anyone attest to the comfort of these passenger cars?

Was this equipment sold or scraped?  And did it run Toronto to Cochrane?

I believe it ran to Timmins. I think the locomtives were scrapped.
