Back in January '77 I boarded the Dominion Atlantic Dayliner at Middleton, NS.....then it was onto Kentville for a 10 minute lunch stop before continuing to Halifax.

Nice winter scene.
Do you have any images of DAR in the Weymouth area ??  When I moved here the only thing left of the DAR was a few bridges standing. I have some images of the Sissiboo River bridge being dismantled.

Not riding the DAR Dayliner is one of my regrets.  Unfortunately, its scheduled was more suited to somebody who lived outside of Halifax, rather than in town, as I did.  It left Yarmouth early in the morning, arrived in Halifax, and then went back to Yarmouth, arriving sometime close to midnight, as I recall.  I saw it plenty of times.  It would frequently be coming east through Rockingham as I was riding the bus home from school in the mid '70s.

Super nice scenes.  January 1977 was a very cold month in most of the US as well.

What a difference this year....this week has been mostly above 0 (32F) and what little snow we have will be gone on Sunday with heavy rain forecast!

I remember the lunch stop at Kentville and recall CPR silver on the counter. We were heading to Digby to board the Princess of Acadia for the crossing of the Bay of Fundy. The RDC pulled right on to the dock so the connection couldn't have been easier.
