Canadian Railroads > CP Rail derailment West of Field, BC

According to the evening news.  CP Rail grain train derailed 5 miles West of Field, BC at 1:40 am Tuesday
and has knocked out the power to Field.  The story says that the BC Hydro power line
that supplies Field runs on the CP right-of-way.  There is some sort of a battery backup
which has run out of power so that  the village is in the dark. BC Hydro expects to get the
power  up about midnite tonite.

Looks really familiar to the one they had a few years ago that killed 2 employees...

The photos used in that article are of the 2019 derailment, and not the current one.

CP grain loads 301-435 was proceeding westward when it experienced an undesired emergency brake application. Upon inspection, 31 hopper cars and midtrain DP remote unit UP 6917 were discovered to have derailed at mile 5.5 Mountain Sub.  Twenty hours later, at the derailment scene, CP work train 6WM0-26 was dumping ballast when unit CP 8107 derailed, upright.
