Canadian Railroads > British Columbia Railway, Way Freight and Lite HelpersDate: 02/11/21 10:09 British Columbia Railway, Way Freight and Lite Helpers Author: FiveChime I always preface these with British Columbia Railway because these were the best times. Was still pleaant as BC Rail but changes were noticable.
1. Way freight to Lillooet blasting off out of Squamish. Crew knew I liked the alco smoke and pleasant sounding Canadian K5H horns. 2. Lite helpers from Pemberton head north to help a southbound up the 2% grade out of Darcy. On my first visit in 1983, the helper set was all Alco and MLW but by 1985 SD40s had been added, and shortly after this is was all SD40s.
