Canadian Railroads > Sightseer Sunday - Rocky Mountaineer at Glacier 2006Date: 02/14/21 23:38 Sightseer Sunday - Rocky Mountaineer at Glacier 2006 Author: feclark At last the scanner is hooked up again to a computer that likes it; a long story related to working from home, new personal computer and OS, and hooking up to the old mule to run Epson. This is from August 11, 2006, on the first leg of a road trip from Edmonton to the Ashcroft area, using the southern or CP route. We had the hypothetical departure time of the EB Rocky Mountaineer from Kamloops, and arrival at Calgary, and worked on a rough idea of 30 mph or so to guess were we might meet it as we headed west. Not too long after we crossed over the tracks, putting them on our driver's side, we saw a flash of white in the trees going the other way. TJ got us back to the opening at Glacier, BC, to shoot 8015 and 8012 in charge of 8 cars plus four scenic domes at 1240. Sorry for the lack of sunlit mountain peaks; it feels good to scan some slides again.
