Canadian Railroads > Turntable Tuesday - Smiths Falls, S-11 Rides, Script RS-3 WatchesDate: 02/16/21 10:25 Turntable Tuesday - Smiths Falls, S-11 Rides, Script RS-3 Watches Author: feclark The snow scene seems seasonal, and reminds me of a mild February 1, 1978, when I rode the first Voyageur bus of the day from Ottawa to shoot the Falls. I did a happy dance when I saw RS-3 8459 still in script paint (faded, mind you; this was the last one painted in this scheme, and never got the CP Rail image). Mid-morning, S-11 6620, frequently assigned to Walkley Yard in Ottawa, rode the turntable to get oriented for its eventual run south down the Brockville Sub, some 80 minutes after VIA #43 from Ottawa passed through. Note the sophisticated winterization measures on 6620. The pity was the snow in place on 8459. This was one of five remaining non-chopnosed RS-3 when I got into shooting: add 8428, 8430, 8433, and 8446.

Here's 8459 at Newport, VT in 1975. Brian N. Date: 02/18/21 16:28 Re: Turntable Tuesday - Smiths Falls, S-11 Rides, Script RS-3 Wat Author: feclark briancdn Wrote:

Neat old cart on the left. Fred Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 02/18/21 16:29 by feclark. |
