Canadian Railroads > F-Unit Friday - CN Supercontinental at Bells Junction B&WDate: 02/19/21 09:16 F-Unit Friday - CN Supercontinental at Bells Junction B&W Author: feclark On October 16, 1976, the EB Supercontinental came through Bells Junction (west end of Ottawa) at 1220, led by CN-painted FP9 6509 and an unrecorded F9B, as well as VIA-painted F9B 6634. This would have put it into the station over 5 1/2 hours late. This is two weeks before the consolidated CN/CP timetable under the VIA auspices was issued. The film is Tri-X, a favourite of the fellow who mentored me a bit in the early days of photography (he wasn't a train shooter). His comment about that film, said with evident relish: "It's got grain as big as your fist!" Sometimes the 3/4 wedge, edge of the ballast, is the best shot.

Thanks for the posting. ALLEN Date: 02/20/21 06:55 Re: F-Unit Friday - CN Supercontinental at Bells Junction B&W Author: Notch7 A great shot. Great composition. B&W captures the mood and the times better in some shots. I used Tri-X and Anscochrome 500 when I started taking low light/motion shots of trains in my teens.
