Canadian Railroads > Thirty-Eight Thursday - GP38AC on the Ottawa WayfreightDate: 03/04/21 10:59 Thirty-Eight Thursday - GP38AC on the Ottawa Wayfreight Author: feclark Instead of the usual MLW power, GP38AC 3015 was the sole unit (an unusual occurrence as well) on wayfreight #85, Montreal to Ottawa, at 1144 on March 22, 1989. There are 11 cars plus the van, as the train pulls around the north connector to enter Walkley Yard, rather than pulling across the CN line and backing in behind me. As the back-in manoeuvre was well established by this time, the wye having been removed, I'm really not sure why they entered nose-first. I loved the look of these Geeps, with the snowshields behind the cab.
Why don't I scan and post MLW shots? Too many to decide, so it'll take some thought. It's easier to pick off the GMD exceptions. I do have a few set to go, however. Fred |
