Canadian Railroads > Sightseer Sunday - Rocky Mountaineer Gets the PK at Ashcroft BCDate: 03/07/21 10:11 Sightseer Sunday - Rocky Mountaineer Gets the PK at Ashcroft BC Author: feclark August 15, 2006 saw us spend most of the day in Ashcroft itself, which was rather unusual. We tended to use it as a base for travels up and down the canyon. The EB Rocky Mountaineer was running somewhat late this day, and it made the unidentified CN freight even later. We shot the WB behind 2641 and 2515 coming over the easternmost CN bridge at 1553; it cooled its heels until the arrival of #610 at 1703, behind 8012 and an unrecorded unit. This shot is from the embankment of the highway bridge in town, by the west switch Ashcroft. My memory fails me as to where the second crew memeber off the freight was - maybe in the shadow of the bridge.
