As I've mentioned previously, train 122 was a short-lived attempt by CN to get Chicago cars to Halifax without having to run train 148 past Montreal.  It only lasted a few months before 120 became a 10,000+ ft. land barge, and the only train going to Halifax on a daily basis.

On March 24, 2008, I caught 122 at Folly Lake with 2671, 8832 and 2530 running elephant-style on the causeway across a cove of the lake.  I caught up to them again part way down the hill, where there was already less snow on the ground in this early spring scene.

I think 122 was traveling later than usual this particular day, close to the time I would have expected to see 14, the eastbound Ocean.  As it turned out, the Ocean was running quite late, apparently after having to set out one of the F40s powering it.  At 18:10, the Ocean was crossing the Shubenacadie River, still an hour from Halifax, and about 3 hours late overall.

Funny look with that double stack tubber ahead of the empty spine car.  Nice broadside of the Ocean!

Shubie was a favourite spot for the Bras d'Or.  The 4 or 5-car train could fit on the bridge and fill.
