3rd time was the charm with the EJE heritage unit as my leader as I got called on a 759 (26,000 ton potash drag) and had clear signals for over 160 miles until we reached English, last station 2 miles east of Jasper.

Wow! That pops, without any sunlight in sight. The minor weathering on the front end adds to it, somehow.

26,000 tons?  That sounds crazy!  It's a good thing you didn't have to stop.

Can't remember this one specifically but they tend to be around 200 cars or so these days.

26,000 tons with 286,000 lb capacity cars equals 143 tons per car roughs out to 182 cars.  Wonder how many units and dpu placement to move the train?

I saw some pictures of this train, taken at Ashcroft on April 1st, and it had two up front (3023 and 3821) and one on the rear (3092).  I didn't see anything in between, although I can't be absolutely sure of that.

I ran across an empty potash train in Grand Falls, NB on March 20th.  It had two ACs up front, one on the rear, and a total axle count of 990!  That works out to 243 cars.  Of course it was all empties, but grades on the NTR are about double what they are on CN out there.

That's correct - they tend to run 2x0x1.
 

The load limit on these NSC potash hoppers is down around 229,000. Loaded trains out of the Sask. mines usually are 3 units, run 2x0x1.
