Canadian Railroads > Fast Forty Friday - Flying The White Flags in Ottawa

Taschereau to Calder (as I recall) freight #301 is westbound at 0710 on September 24, 1976, just west of Greenbank Road and south of Baseline Road (so I guess it's properly Bells Corners, or maybe just Nepean Township at the time), coming up to Bells Junction. The light is dim enough that I had to shoot 1/60 at f2.8 on Tri-X, suggesting the pan shot to me (plus I had just gotten trackside and was caught by the pole line; this was my only opening). It was nice to see the white flags plus lit class lights; this is a few miles before the 96-car train would leave CTC on the Beachburg Sub and enter train order territory to Brent (and beyond?). Second unit was sister 9447, the standard consist for the 300-series through freights between Montreal and the west through Ottawa in those days.
