My first meet between two trains since I moved to Nova Scotia, which unfolded over almost two hours at two different locations.

1. When I arrived at Springhill Jct at 13:46 today's 407 was already passing, so I missed the head-end. However the train was in the siding, a sure sign that a meet was going down.
    This is the earliest I've seen 407 at the junction, and it was all the more surprising since it had obviously lifted cars at Truro.
2. The radio chatter revealed that 120, the daily intermodal, was coming. That was another surprise because that train is normally by the junction before 08:30.
    Today I had to wait over an hour before it appeared at 14:59.
3. As the DPU passed it was sounding quite sick, and I don't think it was contributing very much to the train's progress.

Meet concluded, so I headed to Amherst to catch the head end of 407 that I'd missed at Springhill Jct. (continued)

I arrived at Amherst station 6 or 7 minutes ahead of 407.
