Ex-Leasers in Sunshine
Author: cn6218

CN left the pair of ex-CREX leasers, ES44ACs 3924 and 3926, on the gypsum train all last week.  That meant there was at least a chance of getting sunshine on one day, and that happened Friday, as 511 passed under the bridge to Laurie Park, near mile 24 of the Bedford Sub, with the empty train at 09:41.  That wave is from former Trainorders contributor "scotian", who has been driving for CN for more than 10 years now, after a short stint as a conductor on CP out west.

The weather in Nova Scotia is known to turn on a dime, and that was what was happening as the clouds moved in for the return trip.  The loaded 511 was passing the construction site near mile 26 at 12:37, after 120 and 407 had already cleared.  3926 looks like it was trailing behind another locomotive that had a mechanical malfunction, judging by all the oil splattered over the cab and roof.  A new bridge will be built here to replace the 100-year old single lane steel truss that provides access to Oakfield Park and a number of homes on Grand Lake.

Agreed! The contrast between the rip-rap/gravel and the soil is startling.
