BCR M420W paint schemes
Author: DGOLDE

Based on all the photos I have taken of the eight BCR M420Ws only two of the eight locomotives were never painted into the RWB with the wide white strip.  The numbers of the two engines that I am not sure were ever painted in last RWB paint scheme are 643 and 645.  As of my 8/31/88 photo taken at Chetwynd, BC 643 was in the last green scheme with the Z white stripe and white strips on the nose and and on the rear.  As of my 5/29/90 photo take at Squamish, BC 645 was in the last green scheme with the Z white stripe and white strips on the nose and and on the rear.  Now it quite possible after I took these photos of 643 and 645 that these two units were repainted in RWB and I was never lucky enough in my trips to BC after 1990 to see these two units in RWB.  If these two units were painted in the RWB scheme does anyone have photos with a photo date of these units in the RWB scheme?

Hi Don

645 never received the new scheme and went to DL still in green. All of the other 7 W's were painted in the wide band RWB scheme including 643.  I have shots of it in those colors in 92 I think. It is easy to confirm that one with a web seacrh for "BC Rail 643".

As for the B's. Two received the "Hockey Stick" scheme (683 and 685) while the other 6 were painted into the wide band scheme.
