Canadian Railroads > Still Kickin' in 2022Date: 04/30/22 04:56 Still Kickin' in 2022 Author: cn6218 I speculated a while ago that all of CN's Dash-8s were either retired and scrapped, or stored pending retirement, but at least one of them is still running around.
Q120, an extra Chicago train to Halifax, had former-LMS leaser IC 2466 as the middle unit when it arrived here on the morning of April 27. In addition to ET44AC 3180 leading, the train had SD70M-2 8821 trailing (there was no DPU), which has stayed in Halifax to work as a switcher. Also unusual was the routing of the train. Instead of taking the transfer track at Millview, and entering at the west end of the yard, the train stayed on the main line, bypassing the yard. They left about a mile of cars on the main line, and then pulled forward into the cut, shown here, and backed the front section into the yard from the switch at mile 4.3. CTC on the main line ends at Fairview Jct., mile 5, and OCS runs from there to 1.8 at Ocean Terminals. The main line includes the jog shown here at the former Southwestern Jct.
