Progress of single tracking of Winchester Subdivision
Author: Northern

Has CP completed the single tracking and installation of CTC on the Winchester Subdivision as of yet?  How much rail was removed and where did it end up going?  Was all of the slated rail to be removed welded rail?  How long are the new sidings and how far apart are they?  How are operations on the line if the transition to single track has been completed?

Yes, for about a year now.

It was sent east to rebuild the line across Maine.

Yes I believe so, but stick rail can be welded before it is lifted

See added photo, I'll let you do the math.  Credit to the 2022 CTG published by the Bytown Railway Society.

Things see to be running smoothly but again there are only about 5 or 6 trains over the subdivision.

So there are no actual "sidings" per se, just two track sections with single track sections in between?

Are there new interlockings at Dorion, St. Telephore, Glenroy, Apple Hill, Avonmore, Finch, Winchester, Inkerman, Bedell, Burritts, Rosedale and Smths Falls controlled by the RTC?
