CN boxcars with green doors
Author: GAPRoute

I remember that back in the 1960s (or so) I saw many CN boxcars with yellow doors. I'm pretty sure that indicated those cars were for newsprint service. Didn't they also have some with green doors? I thought that indicated those were to be used for lumber service but I'm not sure. Thinking back to the 1960s is stretching my  memory now days!

Green door boxes were for lumber loading, in the bad old days when they still hauled lumber in box cars.

Plywood is shipped exclusively in boxcars.
