Canadian Railroads > More IC SD70 in Nova ScotiaDate: 07/22/22 19:12 More IC SD70 in Nova Scotia Author: cn6218 Unlike John, I didn't even come close to seeing IC SD70 1028 leading train 123 in sunshine today. But for the record, here it is yesterday morning, arriving behind Dash-9 2678 on train Q122 at Moirs Mills. The weather in Halifax was quite agreeable that day, as they rolled through the curve on the causeway at 08:25.
No such luck with the sun today, but this time 1028 was the leader on Q123, and BNSF Dash-9 4314, which had come in a couple days earlier was also in the consist. They are shown here assembling the train on the south track at Birch Cove, and then running at track speed at Moirs Mills again, but in the opposite direction from yesterday's scene. RC Lundgren Elgin, TX Date: 07/25/22 10:38 Re: More IC SD70 in Nova Scotia Author: DJ-12 Nice. 1028 was, IIRC, one of the SD70's assigned to the B&LE at one point. They never seemed like they fit on the Bessemer , perhaps the orange noses on the current stable of CN painted EMD's seems more in place,

Evidently that domestic containers at the head-end had been removed by then, probably at BIT. ...John Reay Springhill NS Date: 07/26/22 17:44 Re: More IC SD70 in Nova Scotia Author: MC6853 The CN air-conditioner on the BNSF unit is quite poetic...
