Canadian Railroads > CN 4803 on Display in TorontoDate: 08/29/22 15:42 CN 4803 on Display in Toronto Author: eastpenn23 On my first visit to Toronto, I walked around the outside of the Toronto Railway Museum. They have a nice display and it's easily accessible. Here is GP7 #4803 on display facing the city

Got my mind twisted Date: 08/29/22 18:49 Re: CN 4803 on Display in Toronto Author: feclark Do they have a mesh sheet over the grabiron ladder? That's a really effective way to preserve the visual character and keep people from climbing it.

This engine as built operated long hood forward so the engine is pointing away from the city, face Lake Ontario. I'm glad you enjoyed your visit and were able to do some taste-testing at the Steam Whistle Brewery. But I have never seen any signs of use. But they have been there for many years. One of the pictures in this thread shows them. Are they ever used?

Are they ever used? I'm not from Toronto so I don't know when they operate. I did catch the train on one occasion when I went to visit Derek Boles at the Don station. (gentleman with the Tilley hat and grey shorts in the background) Derek gave tours of Toronto Union Station and authored the book, "Toronto's Railway Heritage". Sadly, Derek passed away last year at the age of 71. Gerry Gaugl Ottawa ON |
