Canadian Railroads > Canadian Pacific "telegram" phone in VancouverDate: 10/07/22 06:07 Canadian Pacific "telegram" phone in Vancouver Author: gcm Dec 80
I posted this a number of years ago - a unique item for me. Read your message to the operator and then pay for it. Interesting in that this was in the Canadian National station in Vancouver. Of course VIA had taken over the station and maybe they had brought this from the CP station when the Canadian was moved here. CN and CP merged their telegraph operations in 1967 into CNCP Telecommunications. After that point, the source of the hardware at a particular location probably wasn't relevant. CNCP Telecommunications lasted until 1990, by which time Rogers had become the sole owner, after buying out CN two years earlier. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CNCP_Telecommunications Edited 1 time(s). I had the LD calling card in the 1990's. It was silver with re stripe, like Espee's passenger paint scheme - coincidence ? Date: 10/08/22 08:31 Re: Canadian Pacific "telegram" phone in Vancouver Author: gcm railsmith Wrote:
