CP in the neighborhood at Beaconsfield
Author: Guitartrain

Looking down from the footbridge connecting a Beaconsfield neighborhood to Plaza Sherwood, an E/B Canadian Pacific freight is rolling along next to Canadian National tracks on the left and Avenue Elm on the right. SD40-2-5963 & M636s-4742 & 4740 are on the point. 8:40AM on 9/13/83 in Beaconsfield, Quebec.

Wow, that sure looks different, 39 years later.  The two double-track mainlines are still there of course, but trees and cell towers have taken over the skyline.  Here's an aerial view: https://www.google.ca/maps/@45.4312169,-73.8637713,172m/data=!3m1!1e3?hl=en-GB  If you look carefully, you can still see MP 11 of the CP Vaudreuil Sub in both pictures: beside the green boxcars in the original, and just above the P42 in my photo from last Spring.  At least the footbridge is still there, and serving its intended purpose (a viewing platform for trains!).
