The four-car GO train looks bizarre. Is someone familiar with that circumstance? Nice shot, by the way.

By 1988 I think that off-peak and weekend Lakeshore hourly service had started using bi-level cab cars, before that the cab cars were single level.

Week-end GO trains were very short a way back. In the 1970s the standard consist on Saturdays was three coaches -  single-level, of course. The Sunday GO trains were two self-propelled coaches. Sunday trips could be horribly crowded.

Now, the trains on the Lakeshore line, as we have seen in members' photos, have 12 coaches with  a train every half hour even on week-ends and off-peak weekdays.  

August 12th 1988 was a Friday, so weekday off-peak.
