VIA's Siemens trainsets
Author: Ray_Murphy

VIA's Siemens trainsets have been operating in irregular testing service for a number of months now. They are soon going to be assigned to regular service. While I have seen the trains from time to time, I finally got an opprotunity to photograph one in good light on Friday.

This is VIA #37 (Montreal-Ottawa) passing Turcot West (and the congested traffic on Highway 20). The locomotive is 2203.

Yes, very nice. VIA has a much nicer looking nose than the Amtrak units.

The locomotive nose would look very nice on a BrightLine unit.  Same colours, different design

Very nice! Thanks for sharing. I have yet to see one of these sets. I wonder when they'll start testing to qUEBEC cITY.

They already are.

Last Monday, the 22nd, a set blew past me at St-Edouard as I was getting gas for the return trip to Nova Scotia.

It must not have been going particularly fast.  They had to make a stop at Drummondville, but we still got within sight of them just after St-Apollinaire.

Good looking train, and great graphics.
