Monday Meets in the Mountains: VIA Meets VIA
Author: march_hare

Catching a meet of the VIA Canadians on the ground is a bit challenging. Only two trains per week, and timekeeping standards are so lax that it's difficult to predict what province the meet will take place in, much less which particular siding.

But if you're on board, it's mostly a matter of perseverance. Grab a seat in the dome car (no problem getting the railfan's seat this day, there were only a few people up there). Watch the scenery go by, and just wait. There's even room to put your phone on a mini-tripod and shoot a video.

Nicely framed and well done. Do you happen to know where this was? Thanks.

Here is a meet with westbound Canadian No. 1 led by F40 No. 6448 on Feb.26 as we exchanged a passenger or two. No. 2's manifest was largely members of the Moonlighters group. Uncertain of the exact location.
