Canadian Railroads > Big Yard PowerDate: 10/24/24 12:43 Big Yard Power Author: cn6218 For much of September and October, 521, the Ocean Terminals switch job in Halifax has been powered by a pair of SD75Is, 5646 and 5668. On September 4th the pair was working HOT while no less than three cruise ships were visiting the port city. Transfers between downtown and Pace Yard can be quite heavy and the grade through the cut is also surprisingly steep in places, meaning a pair of GP38-2s won't cut it on this job. In recent days 5646 was replaced with a Dash-9.
