My Last Posting for 2024
Author: cn6218

For my last posting of  the year, here's another view of that backwards consist on Cape Breton Island, back when you could still catch a couple trains a week up there.

301 was passing the east switch of the Cross Point siding (near Beaver Cove) on October 11, 2010 as they headed for the Strait of Canso with loads of coal and empty cars from various industries in the Sydney area of Cape Breton.  Cross Point was a long siding about half way across the Island, and one of the few still in service when the track was effectively abandoned in 2015, although I doubt it had been used for a meet since the Bras d'Or stopped running (and even that is doubtful).

Thanks everyone for your kind words. I also enjoy the pictures others post here, and the thoughtful commentary they sometimes inspire.

I will be around in the new year for sure. My subscription doesn't expire for at least another 9 or 10 months. :-)
