CP 7435, the third of eight newly painted ET44AC diesels to make it to the west coast for CPKC was on the point of train 601 on Dec 29. I intercepted it at Rosedale and gave chase west to Haney. Engines always look best when the paint is fresh and clean. This train had a couple of additional surprises for DPU units as well.

1. CP 7435 leads 8157 and a KCS ACe through Rosedale amid pelting rain.

2. Slowing to cross over to CPKC track at Matsqui Jct. CP 7435 lights up the raindrops at Sumas Mtn.

3. CP 7435 running at track speed on a clear to stop through Haney BC.

4. Mid train DPU was SD70ACu CP 7030 with the Strathcona's decal affixed to the nose.

5. Now at a considerably slower pace, the rear DPU was quadruple triple CN 3333 bringing up the rear markers.
