Canadian Railroads > 10 Years Ago TodayDate: 01/03/25 18:29 10 Years Ago Today Author: cn6218 10 years ago today, when train 507 was still the Rockingham local, GP40-2L 9543 was crossing the Sackville River on the way to Bedford Quarry with a couple loads of propane. Although the Quarry was less than 3 miles ahead, they probably had to go all the way to Kinsac (about 10 miles) to run around the two cars because the points at the Quarry face east. When cabooses were still around, the crew would often make this move as a shove, and there has been talk of acquiring a "shoving platform" to simplify this move. One such platform, a flatcar with railings, was sent down to Halifax from Montreal, but was deemed "unsafe" by the local crews, and it didn't go any farther than that.

Another Ocean in the Suburban Snow I do worry that somebody will build a house on that lot. It currently has a FOR SALE sign on it. GTD |
