Caboose ID - CP or CN?
Author: nydepot

I can't find anything on this caboose, specifically whether it's ex-CN or CP. Guess at the length? Thank you.

CP.  The offset window in the cupola is the spotting feature.  CN's were centered.

Ogdensburg & Norwood sounds like it's in upstate New York.

The arched rather than low-peaked roof profile also says CP.

Going by Manny Jacobs' excellent Canadian Pacific Caboose Color Guide, this looks to be one of roughly 1,900 wood end cupola cabooses built between 1881-1929, with final road numbers in the range 435000-436979 (the '435' on this caboose suggests the new owners dropped the last three digits off the number).
Assuming the red and yellow paint was applied by CP and retained after sale, then it was on roster with CP until at least 1967 (which is when that paint scheme was introduced).
These were 35'5" over strikers.
