Canadian Railroads > A GMD1 in HalifaxDate: 03/27/25 17:15 A GMD1 in Halifax Author: cn6218 On April 9, 1999 I found GMD1u 1422 catching some rays outside the Rockingham yard office in Halifax, NS. 1422 was rebuilt from 1076 in 1989, swapping A1A trucks for the 2-axle flexicoils, and being upgraded with 645 power assemblies on the old 12V-567 block. Perhaps the new power assemblies provided better combustion, because it also lost its distinctive spark arresters at the same time. Just at the edge of the frame is plow 55360, almost a year after the picture I posted the other day, so it hadn't left yet for the Windsor & Hantsport.
