Canadian Railroads > One from Northern OntarioDate: 05/30/25 19:39 One from Northern Ontario Author: tq-07fan I can never understand why so many railfans go to the Canadian Rockies when the scenery in Northern Ontario is much better. Of course, there sure aren't as many trains as in the Canadian Rockies or as there was up here twenty-eight years ago. Here is one, the only one I was able to find between Thunder Bay and Schreiber this afternoon, in part due to a huge production gang working around Rossport.
May 30th 2025 WB on CP Rail taken from Kame Bay Lookout. I have been collecting locations using other websites just in case the stars align for a visit. Kinda surprised to find Nicholas Morant had favorite locations along the Lake that are still clear enough to find.
The big difference would be Ontario is mostly but not all flat, where the rockies are mostly but not all vertical. A person can rack up a lot of miles with either area though. t4p. https://www.explore.whyte.org/aboutnicholasmorant https://www.abebooks.com/book-search/title/nicholas-morant%27s-canadian-pacific/ Edited 2 time(s).
