5435 is on the Atlantic at Moncton,NB on a cold evening.
Built in 1950 by Canadian Car and Foundry.

They had corrosion issues. Their trucks were recycled to be used under the HEP-II cars. Despite their varying origins, they have a common truck that they were familiar with. . 

There is still one around used as a chartered club car, https://corpo.viarail.ca/en/projects-infrastructure/train-fleet/lounge-car, but is stashed long term in Montreal.

The corrosion issues with the CC&F cars is the reason VIA decided to only rebuild Budd stainless steel cars.

Notice the lower car sides looks a little wrinkly around the framework.
Wonder if the window sash allowed water penetration between the frame and sides.

That's what happened to the SP and Rock Island PS cars and why they had to be reskinned.
