Canadian Railroads > BC Rail Heritage Unit in Nova Scotia AgainDate: 06/29/25 18:17 BC Rail Heritage Unit in Nova Scotia Again Author: cn6218 On June 11th I got a tip that Z120 had left Montreal with ET44AC 3115, the BC Rail-painted GE leading the train. With good weather the next day, I was on the road early to try and get some pictures. On the way north from Halifax I paused for a few minutes to shoot L507, the Dartmouth-Moncton manifest, crossing the Shubenacadie River with a pair of SD70M-2s for power.
I was hoping to catch Z120 at Folly Lake, but the stop for 507 cost me that shot, and I had to settle for them near the bottom of Folly Mountain, at East Mines Sta. There was some smoke in the atmosphere from forest fires out west, and the increasing haze cost me about a stop of light south (east) of Truro, including this last shot as the train went under Hwy 102 at Windsor Jct.
