Canadian Railroads > At the Summit of the Pelletier SubDate: 11/06/25 17:53 At the Summit of the Pelletier Sub Author: cn6218 On a trip around eastern Canada this past spring, we were dogged by bad weather, but I did get this video of Halifax-to-Brampton intermodal train Z121.
I was standing at MP 68, and the detector we hear is at 66.42. Although it looks (and sounds) like the train is still climbing here, the actual summit is back at the detector, so most of the train was on a gradual downward grade by this point. The train would then drop at an almost continuous 1% on the Pelletier cutoff, to meet the Montmagny Sub, on the floor of the St. Lawrence River Valley.
