Canadian Railroads > This Mornings's Trains at Turcot WestDate: 12/21/25 16:59 This Mornings's Trains at Turcot West Author: Ray_Murphy At this time of the year, grey cloudy days are the norm here in Montreal, so I was pleased to see the sun (briefly) this morning when I went to the Route 138 overpass to photograph the trains at Turcot West.
Picture #1: the setting. In the distance, stopped on the North main track, is a CN freight I believe was a late 401 from Joffre. The sun was still shining a few minutes later when VIA 63 passed (Picture #2), but a few minutes after that, when VIA 663 came by, sun was behind the extensive cloud deck (Picture #3). I would say that two-thirds of the VIA trains I see now are Siemens Venture sets. 10 minutes later, VIA 624 arrived, with 6 LRC cars and powered by two unwashed locomotives (Picture #4). With the passenger traffic done for about 1 1/2 hours, CN 401 then started up to complete its trip (Picture #5). Ray Date: 12/21/25 17:00 Re: This Mornings's Trains at Turcot West Author: Ray_Murphy |
