Well, that's a surprise. I was unaware of this, but looked back in the 2000 TSG and there it is on p. 1-35. So it was there if I'd ever noticed it. It's not listed as r/n 0000, however. The Guide has the number as MP-1, but the font is clearly a CN class designation.

Yes, and presumably MP means 'motive power.' CN had some SW1200RS renumbered 'CSxx' for moving cars at car shops, Calder for example.

While not a very good photo, I did manage to capture CN CS03 (ex-CN 1374) EMD SW1200RS, s/n A1859, blt April 1960 at Winnipeg (Transcona) MB on January 18, 2007.
It was renumbered from CN 1374 to CN CS03 in1999.
