Although the roundhouse itself had been gone for about 10 years, the turntable was still intact and used every day. Today you'd be lucky to find 4 AC GEs from 120's power that had come in that morning and would go back out on 121 in the evening.
February 4th, 1996 was a Sunday, so some extra power had congregated that day. There are a couple RSC-14 at the extreme left of the picture (the one by the pit is almost out of the frame) that would have been used as yard and local power in Rockingham. On the other side of the sand tower is an SD40u, SD40-2W and SD40 combination, likely the gypsum power from Dartmouth, over for its weekly servicing. Near the middle of the frame GTW GP38 6204, which had likely come in on 148, the Chicago train. Then there are two or three more sets of power that would go out that night, with SD40-2Ws, an HR-412, SD40 and an HR-616 that I can identify. Out of view on the left (west side) of the shop area was an SD60F/SD40/GP40 set of power, waiting to be serviced.
