Canadian Railroads > Chasing a New Leader Back to HalifaxDate: 03/11/26 17:54 Chasing a New Leader Back to Halifax Author: cn6218 The railfan community in Nova Scotia was abuzz early last week when it became apparent that newly rebuilt SD75IACC would be leading Z120 on March 2nd. At least that's what we hoped. There is always the possibility that the leader could be swapped out in Charny or even Moncton for one reason or another. But the stars aligned, to add icing to the cake, AC44C6M 3422 was second in the consist for some rarely seen fresh paint on the point of Z120.
With some good intel from up the line, I had about a 10 minute wait at Folly Lake East (MP 23) before the train showed up at 09:52. At 10:05 they were crossing the East Mines Trestle near MP 15, and at 11:51 Z120 was easing down the Transfer Track at Birch Cove, about half a mile away from Pace Yard.
