Some of this is in the Courtney-Goslett-Holland volume 2 on CN diesels. My cursory re-reading doesn't specify the weight of the trucks, which don't have leaf springs and don't have outboard brake cylinders. On p. 61 they noted that heavyweight RS-18s weighed 247,000 lbs. loaded, whereas a typical lightweight version weighed 215,000 lbs. These trucks were not mentioned at all in DSG 2, although they show up in photos of CP RS-23 8030, CN RS-10 3813, and CP RS-18 8790 in that book. Fred |
