Canadian Railroads > CN C40-8'sDate: 04/08/26 09:09 CN C40-8's Author: SD40T-2_fan Did CN sell all of these off? I know they just recently (within the last 1-2 years) replaced the last of the ones in service hauling ore but are they stored or did they sell them?
Thanks Date: 04/08/26 13:56 Re: CN C40-8's Author: GP40 One of the widecabs was donated to a college in British Columbia. One C40-8M was also donated to a museum in Alberta. Another is a training unit at Homewood, IL. I think all others are either disposed of at worst or deadlined at best.

Pic 1 CN 2100 at CN Yard Jasper, AB August 2, 2025 Pic 2 CN 2433 at Thornton Yard Vancouver, BC March 8, 2026 I also snapped CN 2100 at Jasper, AB on September 16, 2025 with my iPhone but can't get it to rotate properly for posting. Date: 04/14/26 02:35 Re: CN C40-8's Author: coach I read a TRAINS MAGAZINE article on these units in iron ore service, and the crews that ran them loved them. I think CN bought them from UP, rebuilt them, and worked them hard. Can't believe they're already toast!
