Canadian Railroads > CP at Thunder BayDate: 06/20/26 10:54 CP at Thunder Bay Author: santafe199 In my master image collection I have so many nooks & crannies with images that just jump right off the screen, demanding to be posted. Even by posting 3 or 4 threads every day common sense tells me I probably won’t be around long enough to get everything done. But I’ll dang sure keep trying!
Here’s another one of those images begging for attention. It was taken by my late friend Gary Rich. When he passed in ’19 I became caretaker of his collection. He was an intrepid photographer who -at times- was not afraid to investigate unusual shooting angles. Do a TO search of his name and you might find more stuff you’ll like… :^) 1. CP 6014 leading a stacker at Thunder Bay, ON, Can on September 13, 2002. Original Kodachrome slide by Gary Rich. Thanks for looking back! That's a beautiful shot, not a GE in sight. I remember the days we cursed the ubiquitous SD40/40-2 on CP.
Fred Date: 06/20/26 15:11 Re: CP at Thunder Bay Author: jgilmore Plus the fact that there's almost never any photos, new or old, around Thunder Bay. Nice photo, glad you put it up...

(chuckling) My pleasure, sir! Between what little Canadian stuff there is in the Gibson Collection and the few Dean & Margaret Lewis scans from the Jim Watson collection I've just about exhausted my stock from up yonder. And most of what's left is roster shot material. But the images are 40-50 years old so history will play a roll... :^) Lance Date: 06/20/26 16:51 Re: CP at Thunder Bay Author: refarkas Well-crafted view.
Bob Date: 06/21/26 07:46 Re: CP at Thunder Bay Author: bobdavis Very nice! You sure don't see many shots from that spot.
