A few from Thunder Bay
Author: xrds72

Following santafe199's post and jgilmore's comment that we never see any photos from around Thunder Bay, here are some from a family trip I made with my wife and parents from Thunder Bay to Banff (with an extra loop out to Revelstoke and back) in June of 1979 on the Canadian.

Photo 1, the CP Depot

Photo 2, The CN Depot

Photo 3, My mother and my wife boarding Algonquin Park to head west.

Wonderful trip. Got to ride the head end through the Spiral Tunnels, among other delights.

Nice bunch, and riding on the head end through the Spiral Tunnels sounds awesome. Any photos? Now we just need some CN shots from Thunder Bay... :>)

Here are 3 at the Spiral Tunnels. I rode WB from Banff to Field and my wife and Dad rode EB from Field to Banff the next day and then I got to ride from Banff to Calgary. We had run west from Banff to Revelstoke, waited late at night and caught #2 to go back to Thunder Bay. Cab rides courtesy of CP's conductor Jess Nowicki whose assignment had him doing that turn from Field to Swift Current I believe.
