From the US I would recomment flying.  If you are in Europe, you can also take the train or drive.

Drive?  and then a ferry from?

Mallorca is a major tourist destination, with lots of flights from all over Europe. We changed planes at Frankfurt to get there. Besides the trams in Soller, there is the vintage electric railway that crosses the mountains from Palma to Soller (1st photo) and more modern passenger trains to other parts of the island. 2nd photo was taken in Soller from my table at a beachside restaurant. Mallorca is a wonderful place to visit, and not just for the trains.

Barcelona or Valencia on Trasmediterranea or Barcelona or Denia on Baleària
