LDZ 2TE116 in full cry

Taken on the Ventspils line, between Jelgava and Tukums earlier today. A 6000 HP 2TE116 on a mixed freight bound for Latvia's second port, Ventspils. Construction of the 2TE116s commenced in 1972 at Lugansk, over 1600 were built. They are equipped with a pair of Kolomna V16 4-stroke diesels, the same engine as in DB's Ludmillas.

No, it waited for another meet - a 2M62U hauled oil train. We were hungry and were headed to Jurmala.
