Hi friends,
last weekend was the annual meeting of my 1983 graduate of proffesional training group.
The traget of the year was the Erzgebirge with a little ride on the Fichtelbergbahn between Neudorf and Oberwiesenthal.
It is a You will find there 2 operating steamtrains at every day of the week. Engines are 2-10-2's of the "seven K" serie.

#1 99 1773 is arriving from Cranzahl at Neudorf
#2 meeting of both trains at Niederschlag
#3 the engine on the way for the "roundhouse" to catch coal and water

On the way downhill our train was waiting for an uphiller in Niederschlag.
#4 and #5 The fireman ist lining the switch and then the enginer give the other train two whistle tones to come in. After lining the switch in regular position our train proceed the downhill trip.
#6 grade crossing in Neudorf

Great photos Phil. When I got to visit Germany in 2002 I rode a couple of the narrow guage railroads. It is a great country to visit.

Saxony is a wonderful place for lots of steam. The open car is nice touch but not so good for photos. The trains looked much better when they were still run by DB without the yellow lettering of the current operating company.
