A few from Germany April 2016
Author: train1275

A DB 245 Class diesel - electric with what I understand to be 4 Caterpillar C18 6-cylinder engines each with a maximum output of just over 750 hp (3000hp total) on the morning Fussen to Munich train in Baveria. Checked out Neuschwnanstein and Hohenschwangau castles while in Fussen.

After a long ride we arrive in Berlin taking in the view from the platform at Gesundbrunnen S-Bahn station waiting for a train to go see Charlottenburg Palace.

The scene at Alexanderplatz Bahnhof in Berlin.

Love the shots from Bayern. I am all too familiar with those mugs and the "etched" tabletops at the Hoffbrahaus. Sehr Gut!

I too visited the Hofbrauhaus (twice) on my recent European rail trip while in Munich. Loved the city. I arrived on an EC 193, Zurich to Munich via Lindau and Memminger, Germany, much on a single track non electrified line in Germany. Diesel power replaced the electric loco at Lindau. From what I can see looking at DB web site, that train no longer operates.
