We took a side trip from Madrid about 40 miles to Toledo, a historic walled city, which has Christian, Muslim and Jewish history. Also a nice cathedral and the El Greco museum. Trains operate every hour from Madrid. You can walk from the station into the old city. Or take a shuttle bus.

The whole city of Toledo is a step back in time. Narrow streets. A nice day side trip from Madrid.

Beautiful station. Much different than Toledo, Ohio.
