Montreux Switzerland
Author: MEKoch

In my European travels this Summer, we departed Zermatt on the shuttle train; then boarded an intercity SBB train to Montreaux. Fast running down the Rhone River valley. The Montreux station the next morning had things to interest me.
1) SBB first class car
2) Station front (under construction/restoration)
3) Intercity train arrives

Montreux like many Swiss stations had other local train services sharing the station. These services were mostly narrow gauge.
4 - 6) local train coming and going

Here are a pair of local services not in the MOB system.
7) Rochers
8) This local had this wagon on the front used for?? It says Golden Pass, so it is likely a local train on that line.

So much variety in Switzerland. The trend seems to be far fewer trains with windows that open. From my past experiences, the Swiss hated it when tourists/ralfans opened windows. At times, Guards even took it upon themselves to close the windows that a passenger has opened.
