European Railroad Discussion > Train time in ZwickauDate: 03/23/18 06:37 Train time in Zwickau Author: Bob3985 So here we are at the Zwickau station.
The first photo is looking northerly at the control tower and all the station tracks departing town. Second photo is an ICE train arriving at the station. Third train is a regional train preparing to depart Zwickau. Bob Krieger Cheyenne, WY Date: 03/23/18 06:43 Re: Train time in Zwickau Author: Bob3985 In these three photos we first see a regional train departing the station by the control tower.
Second photo is a Vogtlandbahn train and in the indicator it says "Kraslice via Felsenstein". Third photo shows a freight slipping by the station. Bob Krieger Cheyenne, WY Date: 03/23/18 06:48 Re: Train time in Zwickau Author: Bob3985 And finally I have a few freight locomotives.
First is an electric freight motor sitting in the yard with the old roundhouse in the background. Second is a diesel switch engine passing by the station. Third is another electric DB frieght motor sitting in the yard. Bob Krieger Cheyenne, WY Date: 03/23/18 07:44 Re: Train time in Zwickau Author: SOO6617 Bob3985 Wrote:

Actually that is a DB Class 120 passenger locomotive. It was designed as a dual-purpose locomotive, but the separation of the passenger business from the freight business meant that once testing was over it never worked regular freight trains. Thank you for the clarification. I am a novice at German rail operations and since this was my once in a life time trip I didn't nor haven't researched their operations much. But on a good note I purchased a Bayern Staats Bahn HO scale locomotive. I posted s photo and brief video in the Model discussion section. Bob Krieger Cheyenne, WY Edited 1 time(s).
